“Having a dispatch board everybody can see was amazing. How are they running? (We know) without having to call them and distract them. Efficiency, big time.”
Whether you’re a small business or a large multi-trade commercial services company, modern scheduling and dispatching management software enables electrical service businesses to streamline every aspect of their dispatching process.
When a new job is scheduled, the CSR can immediately see the work order—along with its details—in the dispatch board, which is visible without skipping through several different screens.
Each entry in the dispatch board includes key job management information such as job details, arrival window, assigned electrician, and relevant customer information.
Best-in-class field service management software enables electrical service businesses to streamline their day-to-day booking and scheduling workflows with the following core benefits:
Skills Scheduling: The scheduling system ensures that only electricians with the right skill set can be selected for specific types of jobs. This eliminates the need for CSRs to memorize the skills of every one of your electricians and recall their names to decide which tech to assign to a specific job.
Capacity Planning: Business owners can set parameters of availability for certain job types, depending on the season, tech capacity and skills, etc.
This means you don’t need to train call takers to understand the nuances of your capacity planning priorities; they are simply prevented from booking the wrong jobs at the wrong times. Time slot availability automatically takes these preferences into account, so CSRs can only schedule jobs based on these priorities.
Real-time Updates: Each entry in the dispatch board includes key job management information such as job details, job site arrival window, assigned electrician, and relevant customer information.
All of these appointment details can be changed at any point. With drag-and-drop functionality, CSRs and dispatchers can easily alter the assigned tech, reschedule the service for another time, and make any other necessary changes, and the board updates in real time.
Better Customer Experience: Send appointment reminders and even technician bios over SMS text to customers’ mobile devices so they know what (and who) to expect when your truck arrives.
Yes. ServiceTitan's user-friendly electrical dispatch software for field service technicians integrates with Intuit QuickBooks Online and with QuickBooks Desktop Premier and Enterprise editions. Contractors who serve both commercial and residential customers can take advantage of the QuickBooks integration to simplify accounting procedures and ensure a smooth flow of information from invoice on the construction project site to reconciliation in your accounting software, without the hassle of double entry. That means you can ditch the manual docs or spreadsheets.
Commercial electrical contracting businesses can automate workflows with intelligent scheduling that recommends technicians to jobs based on their skills, shifts, zones, and non-job events. A visually intuitive dispatch board provides a complete picture of who’s working where—today and in the future—while optimizing schedule adjustments.
What’s better is it’s part of an all-in-one cloud-based business software solution that helps with job pricing, customer management, time tracking, payment processing, and electrical estimating to improve electrical contractor business operations across the board.
