About the survey

ServiceTitan recently surveyed 1,017 verified residential and commercial trades contractors across eight trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, garage doors, pest control, landscaping, and fire and life safety. Respondents included business owners, office staff, and field technicians. The survey was conducted in partnership with Thrive Analytics, with results published nine months after ServiceTitan's first AI in the trades survey.

Where does AI adoption stand in the trades?

Contractors' belief in AI keeps climbing with a growing share now calling it highly relevant to their business. Actual usage is catching up too, and active engagement with AI tools has risen several points in the nine months since our last report. The report digs into exactly how fast that shift is happening and which types of contractors are moving the quickest.

What results are contractors seeing from AI?

Among contractors already using AI, a strong majority report gains in efficiency and productivity, and many are saving several hours a week because of it. Faster decision making follows close behind though gains to revenue and profit are still catching up. The full report breaks down how those benefits stack up against each other and where users are seeing the biggest payoff.

Why haven't contractors' trust caught up with their AI use?

Trust in AI tools still trails far behind how many contractors are using them, and accuracy concerns are the main reason why. Cost, on the other hand, barely registers as a concern anymore. The report explores what's really driving the trust gap and what would close it.
